Your choice is going to largely depend on your lottery pick. The reason for this lies in how they do the lottery. First they randomly assign each group a number. Then they take the lowest number from each group of students. They give first pick to the group that has number 1; second pick to the group with the next lowest, and so on. (Since you make your preferences known beforehand and this is all done electronically, you typically don't find out your lottery number.) The group is only assigned one number for the entire group so having a larger or smaller group makes no difference. Once your group has its number, you need not live together. Each of you can choose a different building if you want. But drawing together will greatly improve your odds of getting a good lottery pick.
