There is also an emergency room at the Union Memorial Hospital about two blocks off campus. Walk west along 33rd street, and then turn left (north) at the first intersection after St. Paul Street.

Located in the basement of AMR-II, the Center for Health Education and Wellness (CHEW) is the health promotion office of the SHWC. CHEW is JHU's leading source for health information and programs to support a healthier community. They house three student organizations: Stressbusters, PEEPs (Preventative Education and Empowerment for Peers) Health Educators, and Hopkins Kicks Butts Anti-Tobacco Coalition.

Chase Brexten Health Services is located in Mt Vernon on Eager Street. Chase offers a wide range of health services including anonymous STD and pregnancy testing. Chase offers both free health care and a sliding fee schedule based on income.
